Its been a while for NASA to see the space agency working on one of its important venture called Mars 2020 Rover. As per the recent buzz, the space organization had its successful separation test of Mars 2020 rover. With this descent stage separation, the agency would deliver the 6-wheeled robot over the neighboring planet’s surface confirmed the officials of NASA. As per reports, the test was conducted in the NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory based in California last month on 9/28. The test involved a crane meant for lifting the rocket-powered descent stage up and keeping away from the rover.

As per the support engineer, Ryaan Van Schilifgaarde working for the venture, firing the pyrotechnic devices, which held the rover and descent stage all-together and then carrying out the post-test inspection of the said two vehicles. The said mission was the extension of the previously launched Curiosity rover mission. It was in 2012, the Curiosity rover has been engaged in exploring the Gale Crater on Mars. The ongoing venture of NASA – Mars 2020 rover will be seen landed over the surface of mars seeking the help of a sky crane. The NASA official further explained that with this test, the rover and descent stage would be moving ahead in different paths for some time. The next time they will be attached together informed the official.

Mars 2020 rover will be launched over the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket in the month of July 2020 from the Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The rover mission is going to take place on February 18, 2021, at Jezero Crater on Mars. As per the official, the Mars 2020 rover would be one of its kind in terms of giving the best of the ability to precisely retargeting the points seen over the touchdown during its landing phase. Earlier NASA has linked a small size helicopter dubbed like a Mars Helicopter to the Mars 2020 rover. It will also attract the students to explore the Mars 2020 rover. A competition called ‘Name the Rover’ challenge will be held soon, while the winners will be declared on February 18 in 2020.
