Amazon To Hire Additional 75K Workers Amidst High Demand due to COVID 19

Amidst the Coronavirus outbreak, we see people more relying on online shopping for basic things like grocery and food grains. Amazon is the giant in the e-commerce domain is gaining huge demand that has kept the company to put the orders in a long queue. The company even put many orders on hold for the sudden rise in the online orders. To meet the gain in demands, the company has plans to enroll additional 75,000 workers at its facilities besides, the current 100,000 new positions which were created the previous month, informed the company sources to the media. 

The previous month, the company was seen hiring additional warehouse along with the delivery workers all across the nation amid the surge of online shopping during the COVID 19 outbreak. Ever since then, Amazon was seen hiring around 100,000 new employees and this, therefore, resulted in the staffing going to help in fulfilling the orders. We continue to see the increased about demands as the teams are supporting their communities along with continuing to hire along with creating additional 75k jobs for helping the customers amidst this unprecedented phase claimed the company. As we see the company hiring more number of workers, the tech giant is seen raising the hourly pay with additional overtime to pay the warehouse workers.

By the end of this month, the warehouse along with the delivery workers can easily earn an additional 2 USD per hour in the United States while in the UK, they are getting £2 per hour which is around €2 per hour in several EU Nations. Amazon is seen currently paying the 15 USD per hour or more in many areas of the United States for the U.S. for warehouse and delivery jobs. The company is seen announcing a number of beneficial changes to be seen over the top when it comes to paying the boost in the requirements. The company is seen allowing the workers to take unlimited time off to offer the two weeks paid leave for the workers who are seen tested positive for the virus or the ones who were seen during the quarantine.

Amazon is seen expecting to continue investing to pay the increases along with benefitting the safety improvements seen for the warehouse along with the delivery workers. The company earlier was seen expected to spend around $350 million when it comes to the pay increases, but now as per the estimate, it will be able to invest not less than $500 million on those efforts. Despite the increase in the payment along with the benefits changes, Amazon workers are seen from at least three facilities to maintain the norms as suggested by the global health body WHO to protect workers amid the coronavirus outbreak. The e-commerce company has faced an increased amount of demand from the customer base over multiple fronts amidst the COVID 19 outbreak. With this increase in the workforce, the company would be able to serve their customer base the best.
