Coronavirus Outbreak: Google Employee Tested Positive

Google has been going with all preventive measurements and have even asked its employees to work from home. Now, in India, the Bangalore office has one employee who has tested positive for the said virus. As per reports, the Google Employee based in Bangalore Office has been tested positive with COVID-19 coronavirus. The statement issued by the company office in Bangalore regretted to announce about the case as issued by Mr. Anand Rangarajan, the director of engineering in an email to all his employees based in Bangalore this Thursday.

The employee came in touch with the virus, while he was travelling overseas when he visited the RMZ office this Monday. With no symptoms displayed, he was seen passing through the temperature screening that confirmed the presence of the virus while he returned home. The tests were carried out for the staff in the government based hospital which break the story for the COVID-19 infection. The director engineering confirmed that the company is in touch with the employee and are giving all the required support. This is the second case when an employee from Google Bangalore office has been infected with the virus while travelling out. 

Earlier a Googler from Zurich too was seen testing positive for the fatal virus which has brought forth the company’s travel restrictions. With the outbreak spreading like anything, Google this week was seen asking its employees in the US offices to start working from home till 10th of April. The employees at the RMZ office have been barred from visiting the office for work. The officials also confirmed that they would barring the meal and other services at the RMZ office from this weekend. On the other side, the email from Rangarajan will now be going to update their further work schedule at the office after this weekend.

Bangalore has remained the key office for Google in India and it offers various services including giving product support. The Bangalore case was found close to the RMZ Infinity office park based in the said city. Google and the property owners have been asking everyone in the premises to act immediately as it has created panic in the office claimed the sources of the office.There are around six companies in the tech park based in Bangalore and they all have given the instructions to be act on time. The WHO has already declared the virus as contagious calling it to be a global pandemic. It has already killed around 4,718 people all across the world apart from infecting around 127,800 people.
