Now Google Docs available Offline in 2020 without keeping data synced with the server

Google Docs can be used offline and you do not need any internet connection to work and keep the data synced all the time.

The Tech Giant – Google is back in the news and this time for Google Docs. There is no doubt that Google Docs has remained the most useful service of the Tech Giant. It is regarded as the best free word processors available in the market. The fact of the matter is that it is free to use and even helps in integrating things better with your phone along with making it a worthy option for many users all across the world. However, the only down side the feature has given is that it can be used only when you are connected with the internet. But in 2020, the company has embarked upon with the option of using the same off line.

Yes, you heard it right, Google Docs can be used offline and you do not need any internet connection to work and keep the data synced all the time. So, when you have no internet connection, earlier you were not able to use the same. Hence the users at the remote locations often failed to use the same. Making things from bad to worse, earlier the users when got disconnected failed to edit the documents till you find the internet connection fine and working again. So, to defy all these issues, the company has now embarked with the feature of using the same offline as well. All you need to do is to know how to use them without the internet connection.

Using Google Docs offline without internet

For helping the users when in need, the Google Docs with its offline mode allows you edit the documents without any internet connection. But to use the same, you are supposed to do some homework going in the advanced settings while you remain connected to the internet whether with your cellular data or Wi Fi. All you need to do is to follow the steps given below:

  • You need to Open the Google Docs in your web browser 
  • Then you are required to click over the hamburger menu button seen over the left-hand side
  • Then you are required to Go to Settings
  • This will then follow toggling the button, which says – Offline

That’s all. However, you would need a bit of time to see the Google Docs getting to work in offline mode. Once it is done, you have the option to work and edit the documents in the offline mode. So, whenever you are away with the internet, you can still access the document files from the given list that would appear in the form of thumbnails. However, while accessing the docs in offline mode, you only have the option of editing the documents, while others would remain in the view only mode. Or the data, which is not synced to your PC would remain unavailable. 

There are also some other ways to enable the offline editing in Google Docs. All you need to do is to click over the Turn On option from the notification, which appears over the internet that gets disconnected. Next, you need to click over the Turn on offline access. The offline mode would then pop up to see the internet becoming active once again. Once you start working with the Google Docs or Sheet slides offline and online, you can easily make out the difference between working online and offline. This will also have to follow certain steps that the apps would turn on with the offline mode.
