New Google Policy makes the App Developers Happy

Google has slashed down the service fees by 30 to 15 percent. These service fees are only applicable to the app developers who are involved in the in-app sales of several digital products and services.

The in-app purchase policies by Google have been critically seen by many app developers all across the world. However, they now have good news as the search engine giant has slashed down the service fees by 30 to 15 percent. These service fees are only applicable to the app developers who are involved in the in-app sales of several digital products and services. These include the in-game items as avatar, games, guns, and subscription to name a few to the content platforms. The reason why the developers were angry as Google compelled them all to use only their in house billing system found on their Google Play. This increases the service fee up to 30 percent.

Understanding the app-in purchase

People who are not aware about the app-in purchase do not consider the things you choose to buy from sites like Amazon or any other sites like Pay Money apps like Paytm. With the in-app purchase, you simply mean that when you are buying Gold edition of Tinder or getting the new gun for mobiles like Call of Duty Phone or any other similar kind of purchase, you need to pay extra. However, now things are going to change as the company has now announced the same. How about checking what will change and what has existed so far as under:

The issue of Google is that they demand for 30 percent of fees in any in-app purchase. This will now change as the company has reduced the fees by 30 to 15 per cent for the one million USD of annual revenue that starts in the month of July this year. However, Google has not changed the condition of using its payment wallet for paying the fees. As per the company, around 97 percent of Android based developers do not sell digital goods and thus have not paid any service fees for the same.

Understanding the New Google Policy

Google has now announced that only 15 percent will be received this year on July 21 for reducing the service fees which they have received for their first 1M USD of revenue for every developer that they earn every year. So, in the coming future most of the developers who are into selling of the digital services or products are going to slash down their service fees to the company by 50 percent by the end of the next July. For all these services, the company is yet to remove the old billing system, which the developers pay using Google Play.

The company has now issued a notice to all the app developers to club their services with Google Play by the end of this month and integrate all the payment with Google Pay for their purchase and sell of different products. Only these developers will be able to benefit a lot from this new scheme of reduced fees and others would continue to pay the same amount as earlier if they fail to integrate their payment system with GPay.
