In the recent buzz surrounding the social media world, the giant in this domain called Facebook has some interesting announcements to make. The social media giant has announced on this Friday that it will come out with a slew of new video calling features like Messenger Rooms. These would help the users to host a wide range of video calls reaching even to the figure of fifty people. The Messenger Rooms seemed to have proved an instant threat to apps like Houseparty and Zoom. These two video calling apps have been in use a lot these days and their usage have increased to a huge extent since past a month resulting only due to the lockdown carried out due to coronavirus pandemic.

There seems to be a new video feature, which is being introduced by the social media giant turning the Facebook Apps to convert to socialize with their friends along with the family members despite remaining in isolation due to the COVID 19 pandemic. With this announcement, the shares of Zoom seemed to have come down from 3 percent to 5 percent on the news. The Messenger Rooms can be called as the flagship of Facebook’s new video-calling services. With this free feature, the messenger and Facebook would help the users to create their own group while carrying out their video calls and join not less than 50 people. However, this has not been the case with other messenger apps as they can only allow eight people to get connected via video calls.

The Messenger Rooms with people up to 50 will not be instantly available but can be added joining in smaller groups when the app would be launched. Soon it will ramp up more people tolling to 50 people claimed the spokesperson for the company claimed the Facebook reports. The limit for the number of users would vary for users during the launching time, claimed the company spokesman. When one compares it with Zoom, one can find it is now allowing 100 people to join the video chat and that too for free for not less than 40 minutes, while Houseparty only supports this feature up to eight users only. The Video calls done on Messenger Rooms do not have any time limit and these would include some interesting features in it.

These include the augmented reality filters, which further helps people to add up silly masks over their faces. The Room hosts will be seen to lock the calls and thus remove the users. Facebook and Messenger users can easily create the Messenger Rooms, followed by allowing others to invite anyone to join. These include even the people who do not have any Facebook account. The Messenger Rooms would be starting this feature soon for its users soon and it will then add up other features in it depending upon the region and other factors. Also, Facebook seems to have announced the WhatsApp video call limiting the users for the same from four to eight people at the moment. Also, the company would be soon introducing a video calling feature to Facebook Dating feature so that they can enjoy the virtual dates as well.
