The Federal Trade Commission commonly known as FTC seems to be under pressure from a coalition of unions that represent 5.3 million to investigate the e-commerce giant for anti-competitive business practices. A 28-page petition that was filed on Thursday has posed the FTC to look into the matter of Amazon particularly the growing influence in the economy. The group seems to have included the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Communications Workers of America along with the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union and the Service Employees International Union.

These unions have shared a couple of issues as their concern about what they think about the FTC that would examine like the depresses wages of Amazon in the markets where it is the major employer that the company favors the products over the site, which pay for Amazon services along with the Amazon abuses that dominate in terms of cloud computing being served both as a “retailer of software along with the platform. With the given speed that has come along with Amazon is seen coming with the market power along with the company’s persistent disregard are seen coming out with the inquiries of the legislative branch that would further be going to submit with a more forceful inquiry which are required claimed the petition states.

It is vital that the FTC call over the Amazon to answer the charge, which is often seen being used the exclusionary conduct to the detriment of workers, merchants, consumers, and competition in itself. Talking to the Amazon spokesperson claimed to have registered with less than 4 percent of the US retail and that got highlighted the record of the company of job creation. Those are the simple statistics of the company that comes into the picture when the tech giant faced criticism in the market power. The fact of the matter is there is no other US-based company that seemed to have created the number of jobs than Amazon in the last decade claimed the spokesperson. In the US alone, Amazon was seen creating more than 500,000 jobs for a different set of people having different types of experience, skill sets and education.

As per the FTC spokesman, they have got the petition but later was seen declining about the same and commenting on it. The petition has come for Amazon that has been facing the antitrust action. Amazon seems to be probing by the FTC officials over the business practices in the retail and cloud computing market claimed the reports from various outlets. The department of justice along with the House Judiciary Committee has now embarked upon the broad antitrust reviews of Big Tech.
